ABBYY does not publish a price for FlexiCapture or Vantage and has not done so for years. The one detailed USD price list that reached the open web is an ABBYY USA partner list posted on the ISG site: FlexiCapture on-premise opened at $3,740 a year for 50,000 pages, and the Vantage Invoice Skill opened at $10,000 a year for that same volume. Those two lists are dated October 2019 and July 2021, so read them as the shape of ABBYY pricing rather than a quote you can hold a sales rep to. Every roundup that claims to know ABBYY pricing is either quoting a range with no source or quoting a reseller. The reason the question is hard is structural: ABBYY sells through partners, prices by annual page volume, and locks buyers into multi-year terms, so the number on your quote depends on facts about your deployment that no public page can know.
ABBYY product pages for FlexiCapture and Vantage carry a Schedule a demo button and nothing else. No tiers, no per page rate, no starting price. Pricing moves entirely through ABBYY Solution Partners, which is why the figures circulating online disagree with each other by an order of magnitude.
Mobile Capture Imaging adds 20% of list. Mobile Web Capture adds another 20%. A development and test system adds 20% again. The Timeline process mining add-on adds 25% of the subscription equivalent. Stack all four and you are 85% above the base license before anyone has scanned a document.
The published partner list states that a three-year commitment is the minimum for every deal, on both FlexiCapture and Vantage. That turns the entry FlexiCapture tier into an $11,220 decision and the entry Vantage Invoice Skill into a $30,000 one, which is a very different conversation from the annual figure a rep will lead with.
FlexiCapture 11 reached end of life on 1 January 2023. FlexiCapture Engine reached end of life in October 2024 and was replaced by FlexiCapture SDK. ABBYY has announced that the Vantage 2.7 cloud environment is decommissioned effective 31 August 2026, with all customers required to move to Vantage 3.x. Buying into this line in 2026 means asking which version your quote is actually for.
Figures below are read from the ABBYY USA Software House price lists for North America posted publicly on isg-one.com. The FlexiCapture list is dated October 2019 and the Vantage list July 2021. All prices are USD and exclude sales tax.
The Business Subscription ladder is priced in pages per year. 50,000 pages was $3,740, 100,000 was $6,660, 500,000 was $19,630 and 1 million was $32,260. That entry tier works out to $74.80 per 1,000 pages, which is the number worth carrying into any comparison.
The TPC option is valid for 365 days from activation or until the pages run out, whichever comes first, and it cannot be extended. It also bills a flat 20% premium over the subscription ladder at every single tier: $4,490 against $3,740 at 50,000 pages, $220,800 against $184,000 at 10 million.
Vantage Core Cognitive Skills at 50,000 page transactions was $8,000. The pre-trained Invoice Skill at the same volume was $10,000. That 25% gap holds at every tier on the ladder, all the way to $2,187,500 against $1,750,000 at 50 million pages. The Purchase Order and Receipt Skills are priced identically to the Invoice Skill.
Going from 50,000 to 50 million pages a year on FlexiCapture is a thousandfold increase in commitment and it cuts the unit rate by 77%, from $74.80 to $17.17 per 1,000 pages. Vantage behaves the same way, $200 down to $43.75. Scale helps, but it never gets ABBYY near commodity OCR rates.
The connectors for Blue Prism, UiPath, M-Files, Pega, Appian, Laserfiche, WinActor, Bizagi, Automation Anywhere and NX Manager are all listed at no charge. So are the Project Setup Station, FlexiLayout Studio and FormDesigner. If a reseller quotes you for a connector, that is a line worth questioning.
One station of each type is included. Beyond that, subscription pricing was $800 a year for one station, $3,840 for five and $15,040 for twenty. On a TPC license those same packs cost 20% more. A verification team of ten is not a rounding error on a $3,740 base license.
Four steps that turn a quote-only vendor into a figure you can put in front of a budget committee.
ABBYY meters pages, not documents. A 300 invoice a month AP function with an average of 2.4 pages an invoice is 8,640 pages a year, nowhere near the 50,000 entry tier. Most mid-market buyers discover they are paying for a floor they will never reach.
Tip: Pull twelve months of scanned volume from your document repository rather than estimating from invoice counts.
The published list sets a three-year minimum commitment on every deal. Whatever annual figure you are quoted, the decision in front of you is three times that, and the entry tiers do not prorate downward if your volume falls.
Tip: Ask directly whether the three-year minimum still applies to your contract, and get the answer in writing.
Mobile capture, mobile web capture, a development and test environment and Timeline each carry a percentage uplift on the base license rather than a flat fee. Price the bundle you will really deploy, not the base SKU.
Tip: A base license plus dev and test plus both mobile add-ons plus Timeline runs 85% above the base license figure.
It is the only unit that compares ABBYY to AWS, Google, a cloud API or a flat monthly plan. Divide the all-in annual figure by your annual page volume, then multiply by 1,000, and put the alternatives in the same column.
Tip: Include the add-ons and the professional services estimate in the numerator, or the comparison flatters ABBYY.
FlexiCapture is a serious platform with a genuine engineering pedigree. The question is not whether it works, it is whether your volume and your document mix justify an enterprise capture license.
If you are genuinely running millions of pages a year across many document classes, the FlexiCapture unit rate falls to around $17 to $18 per 1,000 pages and the platform earns its licence. At that scale the classification engine and the verification station workflow are doing work a simple API cannot.
Distributed installation mode is the default and the software runs inside your own network. For buyers whose documents legally cannot leave the building, this is a short list and ABBYY is on it. That constraint, not price, is usually the real reason FlexiCapture wins a deal.
Free connectors for Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Pega and Appian make FlexiCapture the path of least resistance if a bot platform is already in production. The capture layer plugs into orchestration you have already paid for.
This is where the money goes wrong. The entry tier is a floor. A team running 10,000 pages a year pays the 50,000 page price, which is $374 per 1,000 pages actually processed, then commits to it for three years. That is the single most common way to overpay for invoice capture.
Annual fee for a one-year Business Subscription, priced in pages per year. Read from the ABBYY USA Software House FlexiCapture price list for North America, dated October 2019, posted publicly on isg-one.com. The right-hand column is our arithmetic, not ABBYY's.
| Pages per year | Annual list price (USD) | Cost per 1,000 pages |
|---|---|---|
| 50,000 | $3,740 | $74.80 |
| 100,000 | $6,660 | $66.60 |
| 200,000 | $10,910 | $54.55 |
| 300,000 | $14,720 | $49.07 |
| 500,000 | $19,630 | $39.26 |
| 750,000 | $26,640 | $35.52 |
| 1 million | $32,260 | $32.26 |
| 2 million | $47,710 | $23.86 |
| 3 million | $64,400 | $21.47 |
| 5 million | $97,110 | $19.42 |
| 10 million | $184,000 | $18.40 |
| 25 million | $441,600 | $17.66 |
| 50 million | $858,670 | $17.17 |
Read the dates before you quote these numbers. The FlexiCapture ladder above is from a list valid starting October 2019 and the Vantage ladder below from one valid starting July 2021. Both carry ABBYY's standard note that prices change without notice. They are the most detailed USD figures that have ever been publicly posted for these products, which makes them useful as a shape and a sanity check, and useless as a quote. Any current number has to come from ABBYY or a partner.
The TPC option is a use-it-or-lose-it pool rather than an annual subscription. It runs for 365 days from activation or until the pages are consumed, whichever happens first, and the published list states plainly that it cannot be extended: when it expires you buy a new license. The premium over the subscription ladder is a flat 20% at every tier without exception.
| Pages | Business Subscription | Business TPC | TPC premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50,000 | $3,740 | $4,490 | 20% |
| 100,000 | $6,660 | $8,000 | 20% |
| 200,000 | $10,910 | $13,100 | 20% |
| 500,000 | $19,630 | $23,560 | 20% |
| 1 million | $32,260 | $38,720 | 20% |
| 5 million | $97,110 | $116,540 | 20% |
| 10 million | $184,000 | $220,800 | 20% |
| 50 million | $858,670 | $1,030,410 | 20% |
Vantage is the cloud-native line and it is licensed on page transactions per year. Core Cognitive Skills give you OCR, classification and extraction so you can train your own skills. The pre-trained Invoice Skill is a finished document skill you do not have to build, and it carries a flat 25% premium over Core at every tier. The Purchase Order Skill and the Receipt Skill are priced identically to the Invoice Skill.
| Page transactions per year | Core Cognitive Skills | Invoice Skill | Invoice Skill per 1,000 pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50,000 | $8,000 | $10,000 | $200.00 |
| 100,000 | $13,000 | $16,250 | $162.50 |
| 200,000 | $20,000 | $25,000 | $125.00 |
| 500,000 | $40,000 | $50,000 | $100.00 |
| 1 million | $70,000 | $87,500 | $87.50 |
| 2 million | $120,000 | $150,000 | $75.00 |
| 5 million | $250,000 | $312,500 | $62.50 |
| 10 million | $400,000 | $500,000 | $50.00 |
| 50 million | $1,750,000 | $2,187,500 | $43.75 |
The comparison that matters for an AP buyer sits in the first row. At the entry tier the Vantage Invoice Skill is $200 per 1,000 pages while FlexiCapture on-premise is $74.80 for the same volume. Cloud convenience and a pre-trained skill cost roughly two and a half times the on-premise license, before either figure has absorbed a single add-on.
This is the part of ABBYY pricing that surprises people, because the add-ons are quoted as percentages of the license rather than flat fees, so they scale with your volume tier.
| Add-on | Published rate | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Development, test and backup license | 20% of list, free at 1 million pages and above | Non-production copy limited to 20% of your page count. Separate installations each need their own. |
| Mobile Capture Imaging | 20% of list | Native mobile app SDK for on-device or backend capture. |
| Mobile Web Capture | 20% of list | JavaScript SDK for capturing documents through a mobile browser. |
| Timeline process mining | 25% of the subscription equivalent | Process mining over FlexiCapture generated events only. One user, one project. |
| Enterprise support upgrade | 15% uplift, minimum $50,000 annual recurring revenue | Higher support tier than the included Business SMUA. |
| Additional workstations | $800 for one a year, $3,840 for five, $15,040 for twenty | Beyond the one station of each type included in the base package. TPC licenses pay 20% more. |
| RPA and ECM connectors | Free | Blue Prism, UiPath, M-Files, Pega, Appian, Laserfiche, WinActor, Bizagi, Automation Anywhere, NX Manager. |
| Project Setup Station, FlexiLayout Studio, FormDesigner | Free | Design tooling supplied on request at no charge. |
Turn on a development and test environment, both mobile SDKs and Timeline and you are carrying an 85% uplift on the base license. On the 50,000 page tier that moves $3,740 to roughly $6,919 a year, and the three-year commitment moves with it.
Cost per 1,000 pages is the only unit that lets you compare an enterprise capture license to a cloud API or a flat monthly plan. Everything in this table is annual-equivalent and US pricing.
| Option | Cost per 1,000 pages | Commitment | Returns invoice fields |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABBYY Vantage Invoice Skill, 50K tier | $200.00 | Three year minimum | Yes, pre-trained |
| ABBYY FlexiCapture, 50K tier | $74.80 | Three year minimum | Yes, after project setup |
| ABBYY FlexiCapture, 10M tier | $18.40 | Three year minimum | Yes, after project setup |
| Amazon Bedrock Data Automation, custom output | $40.00 | None, pay as you go | Yes, via a blueprint you define |
| AWS Textract Analyze Expense | $10.00 | None, pay as you go | Yes, prebuilt |
| InvoiceExtractor Plus, billed annually | $7.40 | One year | Yes, header and line items |
The gap at the entry tier is the story. A US team processing 50,000 pages a year would pay $10,000 for the Vantage Invoice Skill and $3,740 for FlexiCapture, against $888 a year on our Plus plan for 120,000 pages. That is 27 times and 10 times respectively, and the multiple gets worse, not better, for anyone below the 50,000 page floor. It narrows sharply at genuine enterprise scale, which is exactly where ABBYY expects to compete.
Being honest about this matters more than winning the table. FlexiCapture runs fully on-premise in distributed mode, which settles procurement conversations that a cloud API simply cannot enter. Its classification engine handles mixed document streams, batch separation and human verification stations as one workflow, and the FlexiLayout tooling copes with document layouts that defeat general models. The free connectors into Blue Prism, UiPath and Pega make it the natural capture layer for an existing RPA estate. If any of those describe your deployment, the right question is not whether ABBYY is expensive but whether the alternatives can do the job at all.
Where it stops making sense is the mid-market. If you run under 50,000 pages a year, you are buying a floor. At 10,000 pages against the 50,000 page entry tier, your effective rate is $374 per 1,000 pages actually processed, locked for three years, before a single add-on. That is the scenario worth checking against a flat plan first.
ABBYY's own support Help Center has published a run of end-of-life notices across this product family, and they matter to anyone signing a three-year commitment right now.
| Product | Status | Date |
|---|---|---|
| ABBYY FlexiCapture 11 | End of life | 1 January 2023 |
| ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine | End of life, replaced by FlexiCapture SDK | October 2024 |
| ABBYY OCR Container | End of sales, then end of life | 1 August 2025, then 1 February 2026 |
| ABBYY Vantage 2.7 in the Cloud | Decommissioned, move to Vantage 3.x required | 31 August 2026 |
| ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 | Current portfolio, no published end-of-life date | Not announced |
FlexiCapture 12 is still actively sold and ABBYY markets FlexiCapture and Vantage as complementary products rather than one replacing the other. But if you are quoted Vantage in 2026, confirm the quote is for 3.x, because ABBYY has stated it will not ship updates, security patches or new features for 2.7 and processing on that environment stops after 31 August 2026. If you are quoted FlexiCapture, confirm the version and ask what the upgrade path and cost look like inside your three-year term.
ABBYY does not publish FlexiCapture pricing and quotes every deal through a partner. The most detailed USD figures ever posted publicly, an ABBYY USA price list for North America dated October 2019, put the on-premise Business Subscription at $3,740 a year for 50,000 pages, $19,630 for 500,000 and $32,260 for 1 million. That is $74.80 down to $32.26 per 1,000 pages, before add-ons and before the three-year minimum commitment.
Invoice capture is not a separate FlexiCapture SKU. You license annual page volume and configure invoice extraction inside it, so the price is the ladder above plus project setup. On the Vantage side there is a dedicated pre-trained Invoice Skill, and the published list put it at $10,000 a year for 50,000 page transactions, exactly 25% above the equivalent Core Cognitive Skills license.
No. The ABBYY product pages for FlexiCapture and Vantage carry a Schedule a demo call to action and no pricing at all. Everything moves through ABBYY Solution Partners. The figures on this page come from an ABBYY USA partner price list that was posted openly on the ISG advisory site, which is why they are dated and treated here as historical reference rather than a current quote.
Both meter annual page volume, but Vantage costs substantially more at the same tier. At 50,000 pages the published lists showed FlexiCapture at $3,740 and the Vantage Invoice Skill at $10,000, roughly two and a half times more. FlexiCapture is the on-premise platform licensed by pages per year, while Vantage is the cloud-native product licensed by page transactions and sold as separately priced skills.
FlexiCapture 12 is not discontinued and ABBYY still markets it as a current product alongside Vantage. Two related products are gone: FlexiCapture 11 reached end of life on 1 January 2023, and FlexiCapture Engine reached end of life in October 2024 with FlexiCapture SDK as its replacement. Separately, ABBYY has announced that the Vantage 2.7 cloud environment is decommissioned effective 31 August 2026.
The published July 2021 North America list works out to $200 per 1,000 page transactions for the Invoice Skill at the 50,000 page entry tier, falling to $87.50 at 1 million and $43.75 at 50 million. Core Cognitive Skills without a pre-trained skill run 25% less at every tier, from $160 down to $35 per 1,000 pages. A UK government marketplace listing quotes Vantage at 0.06 to 0.17 GBP a transaction, which is a different region and a different contract shape.
FlexiCapture 11 is no longer sold. ABBYY allowed existing customers to acquire licenses until 31 December 2022 and set the end-of-life date at 1 January 2023, so there is no current price for it and no support behind it. If you are running FlexiCapture 11 today you are on unsupported software, and any pricing conversation will be about moving to FlexiCapture 12 or Vantage 3.x.
Yes. The published list describes a 60-day trial with 2,000 total pages for the core skills license plus 1,000 pages for each trained skill, covering the Invoice, Purchase Order and Receipt Skills, at no cost. That is enough to validate extraction quality on your own documents but not enough to run a production pilot, so plan the sample set carefully before you start the clock.
The published partner list states that a three-year commitment is the minimum for every deal on both FlexiCapture and Vantage subscriptions. At the 50,000 page entry tier that makes the real decision $11,220 for FlexiCapture and $30,000 for the Vantage Invoice Skill. Always confirm current terms directly, because commitment length is one of the first things vendors change.
At mid-market volumes the cloud APIs are far cheaper. AWS Textract Analyze Expense is $10 per 1,000 pages with no commitment and Amazon Bedrock Data Automation custom output is $40, against $74.80 for FlexiCapture and $200 for the Vantage Invoice Skill at their entry tiers. ABBYY closes most of that gap only at millions of pages a year, or when an on-premise deployment is a hard requirement.
