ABBYY does not publish a Vantage price anywhere on abbyy.com. It does issue a North America partner price list, and that document is publicly posted by the analyst firm ISG. On it, Vantage Core Cognitive Skills start at $8,000 a year for 50,000 page transactions and the trained Invoice Skill starts at $10,000, exactly 25 percent above Core at every one of the nine volume tiers. Every subscription carries a three year commitment, so the smallest real invoice extraction contract on that list is $30,000. That works out to $0.20 per page, roughly twenty times what Azure and AWS charge for a prebuilt invoice model.

Search for a Vantage price and you get ranges, not numbers. The ranges are wrong for most buyers, and they are wrong in a specific and predictable direction.
There is no pricing page on abbyy.com for Vantage. The product page talks about deployment options and Vantage 3.0 and never mentions a dollar figure. Every quote is negotiated, which means the first number you see is the first number a salesperson decides to show you.
Aggregator pages quote $0.02 to $0.10 per page. Those figures correspond to the 10 million and 50 million page tiers on the real list. At 50,000 pages a year the list price for the Invoice Skill is $0.20 per page, five to ten times higher.
The price list states that each subscription contract must have a three year commitment. A buyer budgeting a single year at $10,000 is budgeting a third of the contract. The real entry number for invoice extraction is $30,000.
Core Cognitive Skills let you train your own extraction. The Invoice Skill is a pre trained document skill and is priced separately, 25 percent higher. Buying Core because it is cheaper and then discovering you need the Invoice Skill is the most common budgeting mistake here.
Every tier on the Vantage list is quoted as page transactions per year. Comparing a 50,000 page annual Vantage tier against an Azure or AWS rate quoted per month is an apples to oranges error that flatters Vantage by twelve times.
A development, test or backup system costs 20 percent of the list price annually below one million pages. Upgrading to Enterprise support adds 15 percent of the subscription price with a $50,000 minimum annual recurring revenue attached. Neither appears in a headline quote.
Every figure below is transcribed from the ABBYY Vantage Price List for North America, the partner document ISG hosts publicly. The list is dated July 2021 and ABBYY reserves the right to change prices, so treat these as the published list price rather than a live quote. They are still the only real Vantage numbers on the open web.
Core Cognitive Skills run from $8,000 for 50,000 annual page transactions to $1,750,000 for 50 million. The effective rate falls from $0.160 to $0.035 per page across that span, so volume relief is real but it arrives slowly.
At every single tier. $8,000 becomes $10,000, $70,000 becomes $87,500, $400,000 becomes $500,000. The Purchase Order Skill and the Receipt Skill are priced identically to the Invoice Skill, to the dollar.
The list states a three year minimum on each subscription. Multiply any annual figure by three to get the number you are actually signing for, then decide whether the pilot you have in mind justifies it.
The Blue Prism, UiPath, Alteryx and Automation Anywhere connectors are all listed at no charge. If your evaluation assumes a connector line item, remove it. This is one of the few places where the list is more generous than buyers expect.
The trial covers 2,000 pages for the core skills license plus 1,000 pages for each trained skill, including Invoice, Purchase Order and Receipt, over 60 days. That is enough to test extraction quality and nowhere near enough to run a department.
The comparison table below puts Vantage per 1,000 pages against ABBYY own FlexiCapture, Azure Document Intelligence, AWS Textract Analyze Expense and Mistral OCR. The spread is wider than most buyers imagine before they see it in one unit.
Four steps take you from a vague enterprise quote to a number you can defend in a budget review.
Vantage meters pages, and a page transaction is consumed per page processed. A two page invoice is two transactions. Take your annual invoice count, multiply by your real average page count, and add a margin for reprocessing and rejects.
Tip: US supplier invoices average close to 1.5 pages once continuation line item pages are included. Do not model one page each.
Core Cognitive Skills mean you train and maintain your own extraction skill. The Invoice Skill is pre trained and costs 25 percent more. If your team has no one to own skill training, the cheaper line is not actually available to you.
Tip: You can combine volume tiers for different skills in one license, so a mixed document estate does not force a single tier.
Apply the three year commitment, then layer the 20 percent development and test license if you need a non production environment, and the 15 percent Enterprise support uplift with its $50,000 minimum if your contract calls for it.
Tip: At 50,000 pages a year the Invoice Skill is $30,000 over three years before a single hour of implementation work.
Nothing on the price list covers configuration, ERP integration, testing or change management. Enterprise intelligent document processing projects routinely spend as much on services as on licenses in year one. Budget it as its own line.
Tip: Ask any vendor for a fixed price statement of work before signing the license, not after.
The full nine tier rate card for Core and trained skills, per page math, add on costs, trial terms and how the same volume prices against four alternatives.
You have been asked what intelligent document processing will cost before a vendor conversation starts, and you need a defensible number rather than a range copied from a comparison site.
A Vantage proposal has arrived and you want to know where it sits against the vendor own list price and what the three year commitment really adds up to.
Choosing between Vantage, FlexiCapture and a cloud document API, and needing the license model, connector costs and non production environment charges in one view.
Processing a few thousand invoices a month and wondering whether enterprise IDP is realistic at your volume. The per page table below answers that quickly.
Last updated September 2026
ABBYY Vantage Core Cognitive Skills start at $8,000 a year for 50,000 page transactions, and the pre trained Invoice Skill starts at $10,000 a year for the same volume. Every subscription carries a three year minimum commitment, so the smallest published invoice extraction contract is $30,000. At that entry tier the Invoice Skill works out to $0.20 per page, or $200 per 1,000 pages. The rate falls to $0.0875 per page at one million pages a year and $0.04375 at fifty million. ABBYY publishes none of this on its own website; the figures come from the ABBYY Vantage Price List for North America, a partner document the analyst firm ISG hosts publicly.
The single most useful thing to know before a sales call: the Invoice Skill is priced at exactly 25 percent above Core Cognitive Skills at every one of the nine tiers, and the Purchase Order and Receipt Skills carry the identical rate card. That relationship holds to the dollar, which makes it easy to sanity check any quote you receive.
Core Cognitive Skills provide OCR, classification and extraction, and let you train your own classification and document skills on your own documents. Volumes are annual page transactions, paid in advance as a one year subscription inside a three year contract.
| Annual page transactions | List price per year | Per page | Per 1,000 pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50,000 | $8,000 | $0.1600 | $160.00 |
| 100,000 | $13,000 | $0.1300 | $130.00 |
| 200,000 | $20,000 | $0.1000 | $100.00 |
| 500,000 | $40,000 | $0.0800 | $80.00 |
| 1,000,000 | $70,000 | $0.0700 | $70.00 |
| 2,000,000 | $120,000 | $0.0600 | $60.00 |
| 5,000,000 | $250,000 | $0.0500 | $50.00 |
| 10,000,000 | $400,000 | $0.0400 | $40.00 |
| 50,000,000 | $1,750,000 | $0.0350 | $35.00 |
The shape of that curve matters. Going from 50,000 to 200,000 pages a year, a four times increase in volume, only costs two and a half times more. After one million pages the discount curve flattens hard: ten times the volume from 5 million to 50 million saves just 30 percent per page. Most of the negotiating room sits below the million page line.
The Invoice Skill is a trained document skill, meaning it classifies and extracts invoice data out of the box rather than requiring you to build the extraction yourself. It is licensed on its own volume tiers, separate from Core. The Purchase Order Skill and the Receipt Skill are priced identically at every tier.
| Annual page transactions | List price per year | Per page | Per 1,000 pages | Three year total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50,000 | $10,000 | $0.2000 | $200.00 | $30,000 |
| 100,000 | $16,250 | $0.1625 | $162.50 | $48,750 |
| 200,000 | $25,000 | $0.1250 | $125.00 | $75,000 |
| 500,000 | $50,000 | $0.1000 | $100.00 | $150,000 |
| 1,000,000 | $87,500 | $0.0875 | $87.50 | $262,500 |
| 2,000,000 | $150,000 | $0.0750 | $75.00 | $450,000 |
| 5,000,000 | $312,500 | $0.0625 | $62.50 | $937,500 |
| 10,000,000 | $500,000 | $0.0500 | $50.00 | $1,500,000 |
| 50,000,000 | $2,187,500 | $0.0438 | $43.75 | $6,562,500 |
A US accounts payable department processing 4,000 invoices a month at an average of 1.5 pages each consumes 72,000 page transactions a year. That lands in the 100,000 page tier at $16,250 a year, or $48,750 across the mandatory three years, before implementation. If your purchase orders also need reading, the same volume on the Purchase Order Skill is another $16,250 a year, though tiers for different skills can be combined inside one license. Teams that reach that point often find purchase order handling is its own workflow rather than a variation on invoice capture, and pricing it as an afterthought is how these contracts grow.
Converting everything to dollars per 1,000 pages is the only way to compare an annual enterprise license against a metered cloud API. The Vantage and FlexiCapture figures are annual subscription list prices divided by their page allowance. The cloud figures are published per page rates.
| Option | Per 1,000 pages | What it returns | Commitment |
|---|---|---|---|
| ABBYY Vantage Invoice Skill, 50K pages/yr | $200.00 | Trained invoice extraction, full platform | 3 years |
| ABBYY Vantage Core, 50K pages/yr | $160.00 | OCR and classification, you train extraction | 3 years |
| ABBYY Vantage Invoice Skill, 1M pages/yr | $87.50 | Trained invoice extraction, full platform | 3 years |
| ABBYY FlexiCapture Business, 50K pages/yr | $74.80 | On premise IDP platform | Annual, quoted |
| Azure Document Intelligence prebuilt invoice | $10.00 | Typed invoice fields as JSON | None, pay as you go |
| AWS Textract Analyze Expense | $10.00 | Typed invoice fields as JSON | None, pay as you go |
| Mistral OCR 4.1 | $4.00 | Page as markdown, no typed fields | None, pay as you go |
Read that table carefully before drawing the obvious conclusion. Vantage at $200 per 1,000 pages is twenty times the Azure prebuilt invoice rate, but the two products are not the same shape. Azure returns JSON to a developer. Vantage is a platform with a designer, a human in the loop review interface, classification across mixed document estates, RPA connectors and an enterprise support structure. You are paying for the workflow around the extraction, not the extraction alone.
The honest question is whether you need that workflow. A team processing 4,000 invoices a month with two people in accounts payable almost certainly does not need a three year enterprise platform contract. A shared services center running twelve document types across four countries plausibly does. The failure mode we see most often is a mid sized company buying the enterprise platform, using ten percent of it, and still doing manual keying because the implementation never finished.
| Item | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Prism, UiPath, Alteryx, Automation Anywhere connectors | Free | Available through the ABBYY Marketplace |
| Development, test or backup license, under 1M pages | 20% of list price, annually | Limited to 20% of the page transaction count |
| Development, test or backup license, 1M pages and above | Free | One license included; further ones at 20% |
| Upgrade to Enterprise Subscription | 15% of subscription price | Minimum $50,000 annual recurring revenue |
| Business SMUA, upgrades and patches | Included | Included in the license price |
| Internal users | Unlimited | No per seat charge for internal users |
| 60 day trial | Free | 2,000 core pages plus 1,000 per trained skill |
Two of these are worth flagging. The unlimited internal user policy is genuinely generous and unusual in this category, where per seat charges are common and add up fast. The Enterprise Subscription uplift is the opposite: 15 percent sounds mild until you notice the $50,000 minimum annual recurring revenue attached to it, which effectively means Enterprise support is not available to a buyer at the entry tiers.
ABBYY Vantage costs $8,000 a year for 50,000 Core page transactions and $10,000 a year for 50,000 Invoice Skill pages, on ABBYY published North America list price. Every contract carries a three year minimum, making $24,000 and $30,000 the real entry figures. Prices rise to $1,750,000 a year for 50 million Core pages. ABBYY does not publish these numbers itself and negotiated quotes vary.
No. There is no pricing page for Vantage anywhere on abbyy.com, and the product pages discuss deployment and capability without naming a figure. The only public source of real numbers is the ABBYY Vantage Price List for North America, a partner document the analyst firm ISG hosts on its own site. That list is dated July 2021 and carries the standard note that prices are subject to change.
Vantage is ABBYY cloud first, low code intelligent document processing platform built around reusable skills. FlexiCapture is the older on premise capture platform, priced from a separate list and licensed by annual page volume under either subscription or perpetual terms. ABBYY markets the two as complementary rather than as successor products, and both remain on the price list. Vantage costs more per page at comparable entry volumes.
The practical difference for a buyer is deployment and effort. Vantage base licenses are delivered on ABBYY public cloud, with on premise and private Azure options available; FlexiCapture defaults to a distributed on premise installation. If a regulator or an internal policy requires documents never to leave your own infrastructure, that requirement narrows the choice before price enters the conversation. Our full FlexiCapture rate card sets out the other side of that comparison tier by tier.
Yes. The price list defines a 60 day trial covering 2,000 total pages for the core skills license, plus 1,000 pages for each trained skill including the Invoice, Purchase Order and Receipt Skills. It is free. That budget is sized for validating extraction quality on a representative sample, not for running live volume, so plan the sample carefully before you start the clock.
By annual page transactions, paid in advance as a one year subscription that sits inside a mandatory three year commitment. Subscriptions renew automatically after each year. Business SMUA, which grants upgrades and patches, is included in the license price, and an unlimited number of internal users is permitted. Volume tiers for different skills can be combined inside a single license.
Between $0.035 and $0.20 per page depending on volume and skill. Core Cognitive Skills run from $0.160 per page at 50,000 annual pages down to $0.035 at 50 million. The Invoice Skill runs from $0.200 down to $0.0438 across the same tiers. The $0.02 to $0.10 range quoted on comparison sites reflects only the highest volume tiers and understates the cost for any buyer below a million pages a year.
Usually not, on the numbers. A company processing 4,000 invoices a month lands in the $16,250 a year Invoice Skill tier, $48,750 across the mandatory three years, plus implementation. APQC benchmarks put the fully loaded cost of processing an invoice at roughly $2 in top quartile organizations, about $6 at the median and above $10 in the bottom quartile, so 48,000 invoices a year at median cost is around $288,000 of process cost. Enterprise IDP can move that number, but only if the implementation actually completes and the exception rate falls. Below that scale the license is a large fixed cost against a small manual one.
The alternative worth pricing alongside it is a per document tool with no commitment, where you upload invoices and get validated rows back the same day. It does not give you a classification designer or an RPA connector library. It also does not ask for three years or a statement of work. Teams handling receipts and employee expenses alongside supplier invoices often split the two, since receipt capture is a different extraction problem with a much lower ceiling on complexity.
Implementation, configuration, skill training, ERP integration, testing and change management are all outside the license. So is any professional services engagement, which on enterprise IDP projects frequently rivals the first year license cost. So is the internal time your team spends defining exception rules and reviewing low confidence extractions, which is real cost even when it never appears on an invoice.
One more thing the list does not tell you: accuracy on your documents. No published benchmark scores Vantage on a US supplier invoice set in a way you can rely on, and vendor supplied accuracy figures are measured on vendor selected documents. The only number that matters is the one you get from running twenty of your own worst invoices, the faxed one, the scan with the staple shadow, the three page one where line items continue across a page break. Run those before you sign anything, with every vendor on your shortlist.
Choose ABBYY Vantage if you are processing well over a million pages a year across multiple document types, you need classification and human in the loop review as part of the platform, you have RPA already in place, and you have the budget and the implementation capacity for a three year enterprise engagement.
Choose a cloud document API such as Azure Document Intelligence or AWS Textract Analyze Expense if you have engineers, you want typed invoice fields at $10 per 1,000 pages with no commitment, and you are content to build the workflow around the extraction yourself.
Choose neither if what you want is invoices arriving as clean, validated rows your accounting system can post. That is what the tool at the top of this page does: upload a PDF, a scan or a photo, get vendor, dates, totals, tax and full line items back as Excel or CSV, with no page transaction meter, no three year commitment and no implementation project.
On ABBYY North America list price, Vantage Core Cognitive Skills cost $8,000 a year for 50,000 page transactions and the trained Invoice Skill costs $10,000 a year for the same volume. Every contract carries a three year minimum, so the real entry figures are $24,000 and $30,000. The top tier is $1,750,000 a year for 50 million Core pages.
Between $0.035 and $0.20 per page depending on volume and skill. Core Cognitive Skills run from $0.160 per page at 50,000 annual pages to $0.035 at 50 million. The Invoice Skill runs from $0.200 to $0.0438 across the same nine tiers. The $0.02 to $0.10 range quoted on comparison sites applies only to the very highest volumes.
No. There is no Vantage pricing page on abbyy.com and the product pages name no figure. The only public source of real numbers is the ABBYY Vantage Price List for North America, a partner document publicly hosted by the analyst firm ISG. It is dated July 2021 and states that prices are subject to change without notice.
Yes. The price list states that each subscription contract must have a three year commitment. Licenses are paid annually in advance and renew automatically after each year. That makes $24,000 the smallest published Core commitment and $30,000 the smallest published Invoice Skill commitment, before any implementation cost.
Exactly 25 percent more, at every one of the nine volume tiers. $8,000 becomes $10,000, $70,000 becomes $87,500, $1,750,000 becomes $2,187,500. The Purchase Order Skill and the Receipt Skill carry the identical rate card, so any of the three trained skills costs the same as any other at the same volume.
Yes, a free 60 day trial covering 2,000 total pages on the core skills license plus 1,000 pages for each trained skill, which includes the Invoice, Purchase Order and Receipt Skills. That is enough to validate extraction quality on a representative sample of your documents but not enough to run production volume.
Vantage is the cloud first, low code platform built around reusable skills; FlexiCapture is the older on premise capture platform, priced from a separate list. ABBYY markets them as complementary rather than as successor products and both remain on the price list. At comparable entry volumes Vantage costs more per page than a FlexiCapture Business Subscription.
No. The connectors for Blue Prism, UiPath, Alteryx and Automation Anywhere are listed at no charge and are distributed through the ABBYY Marketplace. Third parties can build their own connectors as well. If a quote you receive itemizes a connector fee, that line is worth questioning against the published list.
A development, test or backup license costs 20 percent of list price annually below one million pages and is free above it. Upgrading to Enterprise Subscription adds 15 percent of the subscription price with a $50,000 minimum annual recurring revenue. Implementation, integration and professional services sit entirely outside the price list.
Usually not on the numbers. A team processing 4,000 invoices a month lands in the $16,250 a year Invoice Skill tier, $48,750 over the mandatory three years, plus implementation. Below roughly a million pages a year the fixed license cost is large relative to the manual cost it replaces, and a per document tool with no commitment prices better.
