Xero prices above are US list prices after any introductory discount. Xero often runs a first-months promotion (in September 2026 it was 90 percent off for six months), so your first invoices may be lower. The Hubdoc part of the bill stays at zero either way.

The name changed, the product did not: the Hubdoc organization setup inside Xero is still live and still documented. The practical limit is the Xero plan, not Hubdoc. Early allows only 5 bills a month, so a business with real supplier volume is on Growing at $55 or Established at $90 before Hubdoc does anything useful.
Hubdoc for QuickBooks Online is the standalone plan: $12 USD a month after the free 30-day trial, on top of your QuickBooks subscription. It imports your chart of accounts and vendor list, publishes bills and receipts to QuickBooks Online with the source document attached, and matches those transactions against the bank feed. Hubdoc's QuickBooks page only describes QuickBooks Online. If your books are in QuickBooks Desktop, plan on a file-based route instead.
According to Xero's help documentation, a document has to show a date, a supplier name and a total amount for Hubdoc to complete extraction, and it also stores the invoice number and due date when they appear. That is the whole list. Quantities, item descriptions, unit prices, per-line tax and line totals are not extracted on any plan.
This is not a gap waiting on a roadmap. The request to add line items on Xero's own product ideas board has 225 votes and the status Not in pipeline. The Xero community manager's reply says the team has no further developments planned for extracting more line item details within Hubdoc, and suggests apps from the Xero App Store for anyone who needs specialized line-item extraction.

The last row matters and it favors Hubdoc. Hubdoc posts straight into your ledger and keeps the PDF on the transaction, which is exactly what a small business wants for audit support. An extractor gives you data you import. The question is whether that data needs to be deeper than a header.

For a small business on Xero whose bills each post to one account, yes, and it would be odd to pay for anything else. It costs nothing, it attaches the source document to every transaction, and bank matching saves real time. Hubdoc is worth less the moment your bills carry detail you have to use. A single bill for 40 SKUs, a supplier invoice split across three jobs, or a freight bill with accessorial charges all turn into manual work after Hubdoc publishes a total.
Many bookkeeping firms end up running both. Simple clients stay on Hubdoc inside Xero.
