Mindee is a capable document AI platform and its per-page metering is one of the fairest in the category. Budgeting for it is still awkward, because the number you see on the pricing page is not the number you pay. Here is what to check before you commit.
A Mindee subscription is a plan seat plus a credit pack you choose independently. The headline monthly figure on the pricing page is the two added together and divided by twelve, so quoting the seat alone understates the cost and quoting the blended figure hides which half is growing.
The pricing page reads your browser timezone and serves a dollar, euro or pound list. They are set prices per region rather than live conversions, and the dollar list runs about 14 to 20 percent above the euro one in nominal terms. Any comparison written from a European desk quotes numbers a US buyer will not be charged.
One credit reads one page regardless of document type. That is simple to model, but a team processing 900 invoices a month at 2.4 pages each is buying 2,160 credits, not 900. Estimates built on invoice counts come out roughly half the real number.
Mindee published FAQ describes an included allowance of 500 to 10,000 credits with overage from $0.05 a credit. The live selector on the same page sells blocks of 6,000 to 300,000 credits at $0.054 down to $0.042. The two do not reconcile, so get any overage rate in writing.
Going from 6,000 credits a year to 300,000, a fiftyfold jump in commitment, cuts the per-page price by only 22 percent. If your plan is to grow into a materially cheaper unit rate, this ladder will not deliver it.
Mindee is built to be coded against. Someone has to write the integration, handle responses and maintain it. At typical US contractor rates a single week of that work costs more than a full year of the Starter seat, and it is rarely in the budget line.

On annual billing the blocks are 6,000 credits for $324, 30,000 for $1,523, 60,000 for $2,863, 120,000 for $5,382 and 300,000 for $12,648. That is $0.054 down to $0.0422 per page. Monthly blocks are smaller and run $0.06 down to $0.0468.
Enterprise is quote only, on annual contracts, with a stated minimum volume of 500,000 credits a year. It adds volume discounts, a dedicated account manager, 30 minutes of free setup and 2 hours of solution engineering. No rate is published.
Mindee offers a 14-day free trial so you can test the API on your own documents first. Run it against your messiest scanned invoices rather than clean PDF samples, because that is where per-page accuracy differences between vendors actually appear.
This turns credits into a dollar figure you can defend in a budget review, engineering time included.
Pull last month document volume and the average page count per document, then multiply. Most Mindee estimates come out roughly half the real number because they count invoices.

If you have engineers, want SDKs, and are wiring extraction into a product rather than a spreadsheet, Mindee is built for you. Unlimited seats on Pro and EU data processing localization are real advantages the flat-rate tools do not match.
Mindee reads invoices, receipts, IDs, bank checks and custom models on the same credit pool. If your workload spans several document types, one meter across all of them is simpler than buying a separate tool per format.
If the people doing the work sit in accounting and the output needs to land in Excel, CSV or QuickBooks, an API-first vendor adds a developer dependency to every change. A flat plan with a web app removes that entirely and costs a fraction per page.

Note the shape of the discount curve. Going from 6,000 credits to 300,000 credits, a fiftyfold increase in commitment, cuts the per-page rate by only 22 percent. Mindee does not reward volume the way an infrastructure vendor does, so do not plan on growing your way into a materially cheaper rate.

Swap the Starter seat for Pro (unlimited seats, live chat, data localization) and add $972 a year to every row. At 30,000 pages that moves the effective rate from $61.17 to $93.57 per 1,000 pages, so on low volume the seat, not the usage, is the dominant cost.

Whether the dollar list is genuinely more expensive depends on the exchange rate on the day you sign, so check it. What is not in doubt is that the two lists are set independently, and that any article quoting the euro figures to a US audience is quoting the wrong column.

Mindee's own FAQ on the pricing page states that "Starter and Pro plans include a monthly credits allowance (ranging from 500 to 10,000 credits), with additional credits charged at a per-credit starting from $0.05." The live credit selector on the same page offers 6,000, 30,000, 60,000, 120,000 and 300,000 credits on annual billing, at rates from $0.054 down to $0.042.
Those two descriptions do not reconcile. The FAQ describes an included allowance with overage; the selector describes a purchased block. One credit is one page, and in Mindee's own words "there's no markup based on content, document type, or extraction complexity." A one-page invoice is one credit.
