LlamaParse vs Reducto Compared on Pricing, Accuracy and Invoice Extraction

Reducto charges $20 per 1,000 pages to extract structured fields, parse included, or $16 through its batch queue. LlamaIndex bills LlamaExtract in credits at $1.25 per 1,000, so the same job costs $10 per 1,000 pages on the Cost-effective tier, $31.25 on Agentic and $75 on Agentic Plus. For plain parsing to markdown, Reducto r-1 is $10 per 1,000 pages and LlamaParse runs $1.25 to $56.25 depending on tier. LlamaParse wins on entry price and tier choice. Reducto wins on a flat, forecastable rate and citations on every field. Neither one hands an AP team a finished invoice spreadsheet.

Why most LlamaParse vs Reducto comparisons are already wrong

Both vendors publish a comparison page that the other one loses, and most third-party write-ups still quote a pricing model Reducto retired at the start of September.

Reducto no longer sells credits

Until 31 August 2026 Reducto billed credits at $0.015 each. From 1 September it lists a dollar rate per 1,000 pages for each product: Parse, Extract, Split, Classify and Edit. Any page still quoting 15,000 free credits is describing the old card.

LlamaExtract adds parse on top

LlamaCloud documents extract cost as the extract tier plus its default parse tier. Agentic extract is 15 credits plus 10 for the Agentic parse, so 25 credits a page, not 15. Reading only the extract column undercounts the bill by 40 percent.

The benchmarks are written by the winners

Reducto publishes table-extraction results where LlamaParse trails. LlamaIndex publishes ParseBench, its own evaluation set. Neither is independent, and neither was built on US vendor invoices with continuation line items.

Compliance sits on different plans

Reducto offers zero data retention and a BAA only on the custom Growth plan. LlamaCloud offers a HIPAA pipeline with a BAA on Enterprise. If invoices carry patient or claim data, the self-serve rate is not the rate you will pay.

Both stop at JSON

Each API returns structured output for a schema you write. Vendor normalization, totals validation, line item splitting and a CSV your accounting system accepts are still your code.

The two rate cards converted into one unit

Every figure on this page is dollars per 1,000 pages, taken from reducto.ai/pricing and the LlamaCloud pricing documentation, with the assumptions written down so you can swap in your own volumes.

Parse added back in

LlamaExtract totals include the default parse tier the docs say is billed with it: Cost-effective 8 credits, Agentic 25, Turbo 35, Agentic Plus 60 per page.

Flat versus tiered, honestly

LlamaExtract Cost-effective is half the Reducto Extract rate. Agentic is about 56 percent more. Which one is cheaper depends entirely on the tier your invoices need.

Invoice volumes, not abstractions

Monthly cost at 2,500, 10,000 and 50,000 pages, from a small finance team to a shared-services desk, next to a flat tool with line items and exports included.

How to choose between them in one afternoon

Vendor benchmarks describe vendor documents. Four steps give you an answer about yours.

1

Pick twenty difficult invoices

Use scans, multi-page invoices with continuation rows, credit notes and the vendor whose total sits in a footer. Clean digital PDFs flatter every parser.

2

Run one schema through both

Send the same field list to Reducto Extract and to LlamaExtract on Cost-effective and Agentic. Use the free allowances: $150 of usage on Reducto Standard and 10,000 credits on LlamaCloud Free.

3

Count line items, not words

Compare extracted line counts and totals against the paper. A model that reads every word but drops row four of a table will cost you more than the price gap.

4

Price the code you still write

Add engineer time for retries, validation, vendor matching and the export into QuickBooks, NetSuite or Xero. That number usually dwarfs the API bill below 50,000 pages a month.

The short answer on LlamaParse vs Reducto

For invoice field extraction, LlamaExtract costs $10 per 1,000 pages on its Cost-effective tier and $31.25 on Agentic, while Reducto Extract costs a flat $20 per 1,000 pages, parse included, or $16 in its batch queue. LlamaParse is cheaper if clean invoices pass on the low tier. Reducto is cheaper once you need agentic accuracy on every page, and it bills one number you can budget.

That is the whole decision for most teams, and it turns on one question you can only answer with your own documents: how many of your invoices need the expensive tier? If most of your vendors send clean digital PDFs, LlamaParse on Cost-effective is hard to beat. If you get scans, faxes and long tables, you will end up on Agentic, and at that point Reducto's flat Extract rate is about 36 percent lower.

Document pages flowing through an extraction pipeline into structured rows
Both APIs turn pages into structured output. What you pay depends on how hard each page is to read.

How much does Reducto cost per page?

Reducto charges $10 per 1,000 pages for r-1 Parse and $20 per 1,000 pages for Extract, with parse included in the Extract rate. Deep Extract is $40, Split is $20, Classify is $7.50 and Edit is $60, or $15 when the form is prefilled. The batch queue takes 20 percent off Parse and Extract, so batched extraction is $16 per 1,000 pages.

The Standard plan is pay as you go with $150 of free usage, five Studio seats and 200 guaranteed concurrent pages. That free usage covers 7,500 Extract pages, which is enough for a real pilot. Growth is a custom quote with volume discounts, 350 concurrent pages, zero data retention, a BAA and EU or AU endpoints. Enterprise adds VPC and on-premises deployment and SSO. Reducto also advertises up to $5,000 in credits to migrate a workload from another provider.

How much does LlamaParse cost per page?

LlamaCloud bills credits at $1.25 per 1,000, and LlamaParse uses 1 credit a page on Fast, 3 on Cost-effective, 10 on Agentic and 45 on Agentic Plus. That works out to $1.25, $3.75, $12.50 and $56.25 per 1,000 parsed pages. Layout extraction adds 3 credits a page and enriched forms add 10.

LlamaExtract, the structured extraction product, bills its own tier on top of the default parse: Cost-effective is 5 plus 3, Agentic is 15 plus 10, Agentic Plus is 50 plus 10, and Turbo is a flat 35 with no parse step. Documents already parsed in the 48-hour cache bill only the extract part. The plans are Free with 10,000 credits, Starter at $50 a month with 40,000 credits and Pro at $500 a month with 400,000 credits. Because the plan fee equals the credits it buys, there is no volume discount until you negotiate an Enterprise contract.

What 1,000 to 50,000 invoice pages a month costs

A useful range to check is 2,500 to 50,000 invoice pages a month, which covers a small finance team up to a busy shared-services desk. Here is the list-price bill for structured extraction at three points in that range, next to a flat tool that returns the finished spreadsheet.

Pages per monthReducto ExtractReducto batchLlamaExtract Cost-effectiveLlamaExtract Agentic
2,500$50$40$25$78.13
10,000$200$160$100$312.50
50,000$1,000$800$500$1,562.50

For comparison, InvoiceExtractor Starter is $49 a month for 2,500 pages and Plus is $149 a month for 10,000 pages, with header fields, line items and Excel, CSV and JSON exports included. You can also call it through the invoice data extraction API if you want JSON in your own system without writing a schema.

Is Reducto more accurate than LlamaParse?

There is no independent benchmark that answers this for invoices. Reducto publishes a table-extraction evaluation in which LlamaParse Premium trails Reducto, and says its r-1 model makes 20 percent fewer errors than its own previous pipeline. LlamaIndex publishes ParseBench, an evaluation set it designed. Each vendor wins its own test. Treat both as marketing until you have run your own invoices through each.

What we can say from the products themselves: Reducto returns citations that point each extracted value back to its location on the page, which helps when a reviewer has to check a total. LlamaExtract offers more tiers, so a team can route clean documents to the cheap tier and hard ones to Agentic, which is the only way it stays cheaper than Reducto on mixed invoice batches.

Which one is better for invoices?

Pick LlamaParse if your invoices are mostly digital PDFs, you already build on LlamaIndex, or you want the cheapest entry price. Pick Reducto if your invoices include scans and long tables, you want one flat rate, or reviewers need field-level citations. Pick neither if what you actually need is a spreadsheet of invoice rows and nobody on the team wants to own a parsing pipeline.

Both are general document parsers. They do not know what an invoice is until you write the schema, and they will not reconcile a line total against the invoice total unless you code it. Our invoice line item extraction already handles continuation rows, credit notes and multi-page invoices, and the output drops straight into your accounting import.

When a finished invoice tool is cheaper than either API

The math changes once you count people. A parser API at $100 to $300 a month looks cheap next to a $149 subscription until an engineer spends two weeks on schema mapping, retries and an export path, then keeps maintaining it as vendors change their layouts. Below roughly 50,000 pages a month, that engineering time is the real cost of either API.

If you are still deciding on the API route, our Reducto pricing and LlamaParse pricing breakdowns go deeper on each rate card, and the Reducto alternative for invoice extraction guide covers the other options AP teams shortlist. If you would rather skip the build, upload an invoice at the top of this page and check the line items yourself.

LlamaParse vs Reducto questions

For basic parsing and for Cost-effective extraction, yes. LlamaExtract Cost-effective costs $10 per 1,000 pages against $20 for Reducto Extract. On the Agentic tier LlamaExtract costs $31.25 per 1,000 pages, so Reducto becomes about 36 percent cheaper once your invoices need agentic accuracy.

Since 1 September 2026 Reducto charges per product: $10 per 1,000 pages for r-1 Parse, $20 for Extract with parse included, $40 for Deep Extract, $20 for Split and $7.50 for Classify. Batch processing takes 20 percent off Parse and Extract, and the Standard plan includes $150 of free usage.

LlamaParse costs $1.25 per 1,000 credits. Parsing uses 1, 3, 10 or 45 credits a page on Fast, Cost-effective, Agentic and Agentic Plus. LlamaExtract adds its own tier on top, for 8, 25 or 60 credits a page in total, or 35 on Turbo. Starter is $50 a month for 40,000 credits.

No. Reducto replaced its credit pricing on 1 September 2026 with a dollar rate per 1,000 pages for each product. Pages that quote $0.015 per credit or 15,000 free credits describe the old model. The Standard plan now starts with $150 of free usage instead.

No independent invoice benchmark settles it. Reducto publishes a table-extraction test that it wins, and LlamaIndex publishes ParseBench, which it designed. Run twenty of your hardest invoices through both, compare line item counts and totals against the paper, and decide on that result.

Both do, but not on self-serve plans. Reducto includes a BAA and zero data retention on its custom Growth plan and above. LlamaCloud offers a HIPAA-compliant pipeline with a BAA for Enterprise customers. Budget for a sales contract if invoices carry protected health information.

Yes. InvoiceExtractor reads any vendor invoice without a schema and exports header fields and every line item to Excel, CSV or JSON. Starter is $49 a month for 2,500 pages and Plus is $149 for 10,000 pages, with nothing to build or maintain.
