Short answer: if you only need invoice fields, the cheapest Reducto alternatives are Mistral Document AI at $5 per 1,000 pages and AWS Textract Analyze Expense or the Azure Document Intelligence prebuilt invoice model at $10 per 1,000 pages. That is a quarter to half of Reducto Extract at $20 per 1,000 pages. If nobody on your team writes code, a finished invoice extraction tool beats all of them, because the API is the small part of the bill.

Reducto is a good product. It was built for engineering teams feeding documents into retrieval systems and AI agents, and it shows: schema-driven extraction, a batch queue, VPC deployment on Enterprise. The question an accounts payable buyer asks is narrower. You have vendor invoices, you need the header fields and the line items in a spreadsheet or your ERP, and you want to know whether Reducto is the right price for that one job. Upload a sample invoice at the top of this page if you want to see the output before reading the numbers.

What Reducto costs for invoices now

Reducto switched from a single credit meter to per-product rates on September 1, 2026. Most comparison articles still quote the old model, roughly $0.015 per credit with a 2x multiplier on agentic modes, so check the date on anything you read. The current list prices that matter for invoices are:

  • r-1 Parse: $10 per 1,000 pages. Returns text, layout and tables, not invoice fields.
  • Extract: $20 per 1,000 pages, parsing included. This is the product that returns a vendor name, invoice number, dates and totals against your schema.
  • Deep Extract: $40 per 1,000 pages, for poor scans and dense tables.
  • Batch queue: 20% off Parse and Extract, so Extract drops to $16.
  • Split: another $20 per 1,000 pages if invoices arrive as one combined PDF.

The Standard plan includes $150 of free usage and up to 5 seats. The Business Associate Agreement and Zero Data Retention agreement sit on Growth, which is custom priced. The full breakdown, including per-invoice math at 2,000, 10,000 and 50,000 pages a month, is on our Reducto pricing page.

6 Reducto alternatives for invoice extraction, priced side by side

1. Mistral Document AI: the cheapest API with custom fields

Mistral Document AI returns typed fields against a schema you define for $5 per 1,000 pages, a quarter of Reducto Extract. Mistral OCR on its own is $4 per 1,000 pages, or $2 through the Batch API, but it returns markdown, so for invoices you want the annotation layer. The trade-off is that you own the schema and the validation logic. The full rate card is on the Mistral OCR pricing page.

2. AWS Textract Analyze Expense: fixed invoice fields at half the price

Analyze Expense is built for invoices and receipts and returns a fixed set of summary fields plus line-item groups for $10 per 1,000 pages. You do not define a schema, which is faster to start and less flexible later. Avoid the common mistake of running Forms plus Tables on invoices: that combination costs $70 per 1,000 pages and returns less invoice structure. Every rate is listed on our AWS Textract pricing page.

3. Azure Document Intelligence: the same price with a commitment discount

The prebuilt invoice model is $10 per 1,000 pages pay-as-you-go. What Reducto and AWS do not offer at self-serve prices is a commitment tier: 20,000 pages a month for $190, falling to an effective $7.50 per 1,000 at the 1 million tier. Azure also sells connected and disconnected containers if invoices cannot leave your network. See the Azure Document Intelligence pricing breakdown for every tier.

4. LlamaParse: closest in spirit, cheaper on paper

LlamaParse is the alternative most Reducto buyers look at first, since both target AI engineering teams. Its agentic mode costs 10 credits a page at $1.25 per 1,000 credits, which is $12.50 per 1,000 pages. It has no volume discount at any tier, so the gap to Reducto's Growth rates narrows as you scale. Like Reducto Parse, it is a parser: you still map the output to invoice fields yourself.

5. Google Document AI Invoice Parser: watch the 10-page blocks

Google lists the Invoice Parser at $0.10 per 10 pages, which reads like a penny a page. It is billed per document and rounded up to the next 10-page block, so a one-page invoice costs the full $0.10. For typical one or two page US vendor invoices that is roughly five times Reducto Extract. It only makes sense when your invoices are long.

6. A finished invoice extraction tool: when the API is the wrong purchase

Every option above is an API. It returns JSON to software you still have to build: an upload screen, a review queue for fields the model is unsure about, duplicate checks, and an export in the column order QuickBooks, NetSuite or your spreadsheet expects. For a three-person AP team that build usually costs more in the first month than a year of API calls.

InvoiceExtractor is that finished pipeline. You drag in PDFs, scans or photos, the AI reads header fields and every invoice line item, and you download Excel, CSV or JSON. The Starter plan is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for 2,500 pages on the Base model or 500 on the Pro model. If most of your bills arrive as email attachments, you can pull the data straight out of the inbox before it ever reaches a folder, and then run the attachments through extraction in one batch.

Which Reducto alternative should you choose?

Match the option to who does the work and where the data has to end up.

  • You have developers and need the lowest API price: Mistral Document AI.
  • You are already on AWS and want fixed invoice fields: Textract Analyze Expense.
  • You process 20,000 or more invoice pages a month in Azure: Document Intelligence on a commitment tier.
  • You need custom schemas, VPC deployment and strong table handling on messy documents: stay with Reducto, and use the batch queue to take 20% off.
  • Your team is finance, not engineering: a finished invoice extraction tool with exports.

Is Reducto good for invoice processing?

Yes, technically. Reducto handles dense tables and poor scans well, and Extract lets you define exactly the fields your ERP needs. The issue is price and fit. At $20 per 1,000 pages it costs twice the hyperscaler invoice models, and Reducto's claimed 20% error reduction for r-1 is measured against its own previous pipeline, with no public evaluation set released. Run ten of your own invoices through it and one alternative before you commit.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Reducto?

Yes. For invoice fields, Mistral Document AI at $5 per 1,000 pages, and AWS Textract Analyze Expense and Azure Document Intelligence at $10, are all cheaper than Reducto Extract at $20. For plain parsing, Reducto r-1 at $10 per 1,000 pages is already competitive, and AWS Textract Detect Document Text at $1.50 is cheaper still if you only need raw text.

Does Reducto have a free tier?

The Standard plan starts with $150 of free usage, which covers about 7,500 pages of Extract or 15,000 pages of r-1 Parse. After that every page is billed at list price. A no-code tool is the faster test if you only want to see how your own invoices extract: upload one at the top of this page and compare the line items with what an API returns.
